Skagit Crest Vineyard & Winery is a small family owned venture located in Sedro Woolley, Washington overlooking the beautiful Skagit Valley. Estate grown grapes from our three-acre vineyard produce most of our fine wines. Great wine begins in the vineyard. Our vines bathe in sunshine over seventeen hours a day during the growing season and our southwestern slope makes an ideal site for growing quality grapes. We think local wines from our local vines are an excellent complement to Pacific Northwest cuisine.

We believe wine is about Time, Place, & Circumstance. ‘Time’ is carefully tending the vines, harvesting perfect grapes, crafting the finest wine, and time savoring the wine. ‘Place’ is about growing local unique grapes, making wine within feet of its vines, and enjoying wine in your favorite setting. ‘Circumstance’ is soil and climate growing perfect grapes, making wine to bring out its best qualities, and last, enjoying it with the best of foods and friends. Wine embodies Time, Place, & Circumstance.

La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House was established in 1986 by Jim and Mary Lou Caudill in a historic building with a thrilling past of smuggling, gambling, and the crazy hippy days of the 60’s & 70’s. In 1996 Kari VandenBosch joined the team and worked her way up to general manager. In 2002 La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House was sold, and Kari left to manage Flounder Bay Cafe which she then purchased in 2004 with her husband Jason VandenBosch. In January 2008 Kari & Jason purchased La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House, at which point they decided to focus solely on La Conner Seafood and Prime Rib. We are a family run company with a commitment to our local vendors and our community.

Dr. Brandon Atkinson

Dr. Brandon Atkinson grew up in rural Pennsylvania wrestling, playing football, and helping his dad in his diesel shop and his mom manage his siblings while together they all ran a landscaping business. His determination to be a dentist developed in his early teenage years.  His desire is to be a force for good in the community. When Dr. Atkinson isn’t with patients, he spends the majority of his time with one or several of his six children watching round after round of golf or sitting on the bleachers watching soccer, basketball or tennis. As several of his children are adults now, they enjoy remodeling and real estate together and best of all, grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoys spending time with his wife who is often remodeling or building their latest project, and looking at real estate especially when traveling, while trying to fit in a little tennis if there is any time left over.

Governed by an elected board of three commissioners, the Port of Skagit serves as an economic development engine for Skagit County by concentrating on our mission, Good Jobs for the Skagit Valley. At the same time, we take care to provide transparent governance and excellent public service at minimal cost to the taxpayers in our district.

Conveniently located in Northwest Washington’s fertile Skagit Valley, found midway between the metropolitan areas of Seattle, Washington, and Vancouver, British Columbia, the Port of Skagit owns and operates four key facilities: the Skagit Regional Airport, the Bayview Business Park, the La Conner Marina and the SWIFT Center in Sedro-Woolley. Combined, the Port’s four facilities are home to more than 100 businesses that employ some 1,800 workers in sustainable household wage jobs, and we still have plenty of room to grow.

Swinomish Tribe, a community of Coast Salish peoples, are descendants of groups & bands originating in the Skagit and Samish River valleys, the surrounding coastal areas and islands- including Fidalgo, Camano, Whidbey and the San Juan Islands.

Located on the pristine Washington coast, the Swinomish Casino & Lodge is owned and operated by our tribal community. We started as a small bingo operation in 1985. In 1990, we began negotiations for a gaming license and a Compact was signed with the State of Washington in December of 1992. We chose to build the casino next to its acclaimed Bingo Hall. The construction was completed and the Casino opened its doors to the public on July 15, 1994.

Over the years, the company has grown but its philosophy and commitment have always remained the same: to be the friendliest casino in the area with outstanding customer service and to provide guests a luxuriant, state-of-the-art experience while maintaining and upholding the cultural identity of the Swinomish Tribe. Today, we are proud to be one of the leading employers in the Anacortes area.

Swinomish Casino & Lodge is a full-service entertainment destination including a 98 room luxury lodge, 9,000ft² multipurpose Wa Walton Event Center, and casino featuring Las Vegas style gaming.  We have 900 of the latest slot titles, table games including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow, and Keno.

La Conner Weekly.jpg

The La Conner Weekly News has the unique legacy of continuing the tradition of publishing weekly in La Conner since 1879 - the longest continuous weekly publishing in Washington state.

Every issue today “Covers La Conner and its Rich Agricultural Region,” as the Puget Sound Mail, the first La Conner weekly newspaper proclaimed at the top of its page 1 for decades.

La Connerites and the over 4,000 residents in the local school district take their newspaper seriously. Not many towns of 900 people (along with neighboring communities) support a weekly printed newspaper anymore. La Conner does.

The Weekly News cover events and activities on both sides of the Swinomish Channel and extending out to Bayview, Conway, Anacortes and Mount Vernon. Community, schools, sports, fire districts and local government meetings and decisions are reported.
